Sunday 22nd April

A visit between 6am and 7.15 this morning. Frustratingly I have only been able to get out for 2 brief visits this weekend.

Highlights this morning was a singing Sedge Warbler in the sunken marsh, 2 Cuckoo, 7 Nightingale and 2 Reed Warbler – the new second one being around Brooklands Lake, 5 Cettis singing, 4 Lesser Whitethroat, and 4 Whitethroat.

The most frustrating thing was that a female Ring Ouzel was found in the sunken marsh around 9am. Surely it must have been there when I was and I missed it!
