Saturday 17th March

A visit between 10.30 and 11.50 today.

The scrape (as I laughingly call it) is still much fuller than this time last year when it attracted LRPs, but I still scanned it in hope.......
2 Green Woodpecker in the West scrub area along with the first of 5 singing Chiffchaff. A single Slow Worm in the East scrub area and 2 Mistle Thrush the only sightings of note before I crossed the river. Both Abbey Mead and Brooklands were very quiet, although a single Blackcap was in song along the river and 3 Cettis called.

Along the Millstream on the way back there was my second Red Admiral of the year.

RED ADMIRAL (Millstream)
