Sunday 18th February

A visit between 4.10 and 5.35pm today.

A generally dull day weather wise meant that even by just after 4pm the light was beginning to fade. 10 Fieldfare perched in the top of a bush was the most I have seen this year here. Over to Abbey Mead, good numbers of Pochard, Tufted Duck and Shoveler. 6 Shelduck on the Medway with 2 Redshank.

I lingered around the sunken marsh area but it was very quiet. A single Goldcrest called along with 2 Cettis. Around Brooklands and back along the Millstream, 2 more Cettis called. A waited for 20 minutes in the usual Bittern spot on the Millstream Lake but no sign...although it was still relatively light as I left.
