Monday 12th March

An hours visit between 4 and 5pm today. A lovely warm early Spring day. I parked in Brooklands car park for a change and the first bird of note was a singing Blackcap. Along the Millstream it was fairly quiet.

In the open area I had my first slow worms of the year. One well over a foot long.

SLOW WORMS

Around Abbey Mead, another Blackcap in song along the Medway and a Redshank on the river. 3 Cettis around the sunken marsh area were the only other sightings of note.
