Sunday 21st January

A visit between 9.30 and 11am today. Clear, sunny and cold.

4+ Lapwing on the scrape were the first brds of interest today. Great Tit singing everywhere in the bright sun -very spring like.

GREAT TIT

A check at the Bittern spot on the Millstream but the area is being heavily fished at the moment. Over the railway towards Abbey Mead and along the Medway. A couple of Bullfinch called along here and there were several groups of Teal on the river as well as 2 Shelduck.

At the Sunken Marsh a Kestrel showed well and 2 Cettis called.

KESTREL

Back around Brookland Lake, a Chiffchaff showed really well along the path and the Ferruginous Duck was showing well in the reeds.
