Sunday June 25th

A visit between 09.15 and 10.45 this morning with two kids in tow. Warm, sunny and still.

A Nightingale and Garden Warbler were singing by the Water Works entrance as we set off. The scrape was quiet apart from a few gulls. Lots of Azure, Common and Blue Tailed Damsels flying around.

One of two male Banded Demoiselle were by the bridge on the Millstream as we walked towards the open area. Here I found a pair of Linnet, my first here this year. Also a nice display of Common Centuary.

On around the path towards the divers car park. Several Red Eyed Damsels on the water here and a Cormorant diving very close to the divers.

Over the bridge again and up the Millstream towards Brooklands Lake. Both Great Spotted and Green Woodpecker along here. Also a Red Admiral and Small White as well as several Black Tailed Skimmer.

We didn't quite make it to Brooklands Lake so retraced our steps back to the car. A few Swift over and several Blackcap and Whitethroat along the way.
