Saturday 10th June

Visited between 05.50 and 07.30 this morning - weather warm and sunny.

As I parked my car this Garden Warbler was singing high up in a Willow. Also 2 Nightingale were singing and calling loudly.

I checked the scrape and there were 2 LRP as well as a Kestrel and Pied Wagtail. Checking the scrub there are now more Bee and Common Spotted Orchid and I managed to get a picture of this Willow Warbler.

On around Abbey Mead, 2 Lesser Whitethroat and the first of 2 Cuckoo singing. Some Whitethroat were showing well.

A dead Common Shrew was interesting to see along by the railway track.

Several Reed Warbler in song along by Brooklands Lake and a single Sedge Warbler in song briefly along the Mill Stream.
