Saturday 27th October

A visit between 10 and 11.45am today. It was suprisingly mild this morning and fairly bright. I parked at Brooklands carpark. The first of 5 Cettis called as I walked under the bridge several Goldfinch called in the Alders around Brooklands lake. Up to Abbey Mead there was nothing too exciting, a few Redwing over. I scanned the Medway - good numbers of Teal here. Around Abbey Mead and over to the East scrub - a Skylark called as it flew over. It was so warm I checked for reptiles but nothing around. Filedfare and Redwing were very evident in the west and east scrub.

Along the Millstream, a Grey Wagtail showed really well but always too far ahead to photograph. A Hawker sp and Darter sp also showed but refused to settle for me to confirm ID.

There seems to be a lot of Skylark moving around at the moment. Whilst walking through Maidstone town centre a few days a go, 2 flew over, calling and giving good views(without bins).
