Sunday 4th February

A visit between 7.30 and 9am today. Very cold start to the day with a frost on the ground.

All in all pretty quiet this morning. Last nights 2 Bittern had moved on from the Millstream - I wonder where they go during the day?

15 Lapwing flying over towards Holborough, 5+ Bullfinch along the river, with 5 Shelduck and 6 Teal on the Medway itself and 1 Redshank. Good numbers of Grey Heron still actively nest building in the trees along the far bank of the Medway.

Millstream path was quiet - a GS Woodpecker, a few Greenfinch and Goldfinch. 12 Lapwing were on the scrape as I left.
