Saturday 27th September

An hour at New Hythe this afternoon with all four kids wasn't at all conducive to watching any wildlife...however the ever obliging Water Voles, three of them today.....the children were fascinated....for a few minutes. Also I added 2 Small Copper - my first here this year. One in the West Scrub and one near the Water Works. Both eluded being photographed. Other sightings included Cettis Warbler, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Great Spotted Woddpecker, Chiffchaff, Green Woodpecker, Speckled Wood, Comma and lots of Whites. Plenty of Migrant Hawker around and Common Darter were everywhere.
I have been told about a Redstart that was seen in the West Scrub on Thursday....another bird that has eluded me this year!
