A visit between 3.45 and 4.45 today - weather warm and sunny.

Bird song was very subdued on this warm afternoon. 2 Nightingale singing, one of them interspersed with the strange Nightingale croaking call. Apart from that a single Green Woodpecker, 10 Sand Martin, a probable distant Hobby, 2 Garden Warbler, 4 Reed Warbler and several Whitethroat.

Unbelievably I saw no butterflies at all which amazed me! 4+ Four Spotted Chaser, a couple of Hairy Dragonfly and a single Common Darter. Added to this a lone Water Vole, 1 slow Worm and 1 Common Lizard.
