Saturday 30th June

A visit this morning between 5.45am and 7.15am. I managed to dodge the rain this morning but there wasn't a great deal around. 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Reed Warbler, 3 Whitethroat, 3 Cettis Warbler, 3 Willow Warbler, 3 Blackcap, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 5 Swift were the highlights. The Himalayan Balsam is in full flower now along the Millstream.

Hi Steve

I'm afraid I don't know whether the Silver Spotted Skippers have been introduced.

There are several bits of meadow/rough grassland in the Park, however it is the largest one I have seen it in. From the main car park you can follow a path which runs between the golf course and the playing fields, and finishes at the monument(has a domed roof). If you look left(east) from the monument there is a large area of rough grassland with lots of mown tracks running through it. This is it!

If you have trouble locating this area I don't mind meeting you over there.
