Tuesday 29th August

A visit between 07.30 and 09.00 this morning. A beautiful bright sunny morning today. Still no Autumn migrants though. Yesterday in Birling there were c50 Swallow on the wires - at New Hythe today the only hirundines were 7 House Martin over the railway track near Brooklands Lake and a single Swift over the lake. In addition to that I saw 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, Chiff/Willow and 2 Reed Bunting.

The only other sightings of note were 1 Common Blue and several Common Darter.
