What was most noticeable today was the number of 'singing' (can you call it singing?) Cettis Warbler. At least 7 were heard throughout my walk. A flock of 80+ Goldfinch including many juvs were feeding on teasels in the east scrub, also a juv Green Woodpecker there and 2 Slow Worm. Crossing the river Abbey Mead was virtually devoid of birds, I tried to walk along the Medway path but it was impenetrable so I used the parallel path without the river views and looked back along the river from the sunken marsh. Not much here at all, just a few loafing gulls and Grey Heron. I did photograph this ting fungi - only about 2cm high and very delicate.
Pleated Inkcap (thanks Abbey Meadows/Greenie!)
A wander around Brooklands Lake that was also very quiet and along the Millstream. 2+ Grey Wagtail along the stream and a Bar-headed Goose in amongst the Canada Geese on the Millstream Lake. Nothing out of the ordinary but a pleasant wander....
Nice pic of the fungi. Looks very much like Pleated inkcap (Coprinus plicatilis).
