I late PM visit today - 3.30 until about 5pm. It was around 0 degrees with a covering of snow.
Birds were thin on the ground. Best sighting was a single Bittern briefly at the end of the Millstream just before 5pm. Good numbers of Gadwall all over, a few Fieldlfare, 2 Green Woodpecker, a flock of c80 Goldfinch roosting at the end of Brooklands Lake and several Goldcrest were the best sightings.

ReplyDeletehi steve my brother in law mark and I visited part of your local patch sunday 1st feb.We went to the apple orchard behind east malling church. The waxwings were still there we saw 5 of them along with redwings 50 fieldfares and a few bramblings chaffinchs and siskins. as this was our first visit here and a tick with the waxwings we would lile to thank you and the other bloggers for the excellent photos and info on the kentos site.
